The RCWL-0516 is a low-cost microwave radar sensor module used for motion detection. Using the Doppler effect, the module emits and receives low-power microwave signals (~3.18 GHz) to detect moving objects, with a detection range of 5–9 meters. Unlike passive infrared (PIR) sensors, the RCWL-0516 can detect movement through non-metallic materials like plastic, wood, and glass.
